Free apple preschool worksheets: count apples, which has fewer, apple patterns

Jump to the free printables

Apples are a classic preschool theme in the fall, and for good reason: they're easy to find, fun to count, and tasty at the end. These free apple worksheets for preschool focus on early math: counting, comparing and patterns.

What your child practices

  • Counting and writing numbers up to 8.
  • Comparing groups: which group has fewer apples?
  • Patterns with apples, trees and leaves.

How to use the apple pages

  1. Count the Apples. Count each row and write the number in the box.
  2. Which Has Fewer Apples? This time the question is "fewer," which is harder than "more." Count both groups and circle the smaller one.
  3. Apple Patterns. Say each pattern out loud, then circle what comes next.
  4. Use real apples. Put a few real apples on the table and ask the same questions.

  • Apple halves. Cut an apple in half across the middle to find the star of seeds. Count the seeds.
  • Apple stamping. Dip apple halves in paint and stamp patterns on paper.
  • Heavier or lighter. Hold an apple in one hand and a toy in the other. Which is heavier?
  • Apple orchard trip. If you can visit one, count the apples you pick.
