November with a preschooler can be busy: school events, family plans, cooking and travel. Thanksgiving activities don't need to be big crafts. A couple of themed pages at the kitchen table give your child something calm to do and still sneak in counting and letter practice.
Here are three free Thanksgiving worksheets for preschool, plus a few simple activity ideas you can do with things already in the house.
What your child practices
- Counting to 5 and to 8 with turkeys and acorns, then circling the number.
- The letter T: tracing big T and small t, with a turkey to color.
- Fall vocabulary: turkey, acorn, pumpkin, leaves. Great words to talk about on walks.
How to use the Thanksgiving pages
- Count the Turkeys first. It counts from 1 to 5, a gentle start for younger children.
- Then T is for Turkey. Say "t-t-turkey" together, trace the letters and color the turkey.
- Count the Acorns for children who are ready for groups up to 8.
- Save one for the big day. A worksheet and a few crayons keep little ones busy while the food is being finished.

Easy Thanksgiving activities for preschoolers
- Thankful turkey. Trace your child's hand for a turkey. On each finger "feather," write something they're thankful for.
- Leaf counting walk. Collect leaves outside, then count and sort them by color at home.
- Acorn or pasta sort. Sort small objects into big and small piles (supervise little ones around small items).
- Kitchen helper. Let your child count spoonfuls, wash vegetables or stir.
- Thankful placemat. Let your child decorate a paper placemat for the family table.
Keep it relaxed
Holidays already come with a lot of change. If your child isn't in the mood for paper work, skip it. The counting and talking you do while cooking or walking count just as much.
